1. How to report the occurrence of Fire Accident?


a) This is a frequently asked question by the public. As soon as a Fire Accident is noticed, the public should inform to the nearest Fire and Rescue Station through telephone. Normally telephone No. 101 is provided to the Fire and Rescue Station in the locality. The calls to this number is not metered. If the local number 101 is not available, the public should dial the concerned telephone number of the nearest Fire and Rescue station. The information should contain the name of the caller, phone number through which the call is made, nature of fire, the object involved in the fire, place of fire, time of occurrence of fire, the route to the spot, etc. The fire fighting and rescue activities are done by the Department absolutely free of cost. Charges even for petrol/diesel are not levied for this purpose. This procedure is applicable for reporting other accidents / natural calamities. also.


b) How to obtain a Fire Report?
Fire Report is necessary for obtaining financial assistance/ compensation from Government towards loss sustained due to fire or for claiming insurance. Department issues a fire report if such an incident was attended to by the Department. The party should apply to the concerned Fire and Rescue Station Officer who attended to the said fire incident showing the details of Fire. A fee of Rs.25/- for one copy of Fire Report and Rs.10/- per additional copy has to be remitted in the Government Treasury under the Head of Account "0070- other Administrative Services 60-other Services -109- Fire Protection and control". for obtaining the required number of Fire Reports. The original chalan should be enclosed with the application.


c) How to obtain Clearance Certificate from Fire and Rescue Services for starting industries, Petrol Bunks, Storage of Explosives, Petroleum Products and for the construction of high- rise Building?
All applications for this purpose should be submitted to the local licensing authorities, in the form prescribed by the concerned licensing authority. The licensing authority will forward the applications to the Fire and Rescue Services Department. The Fire and Rescue services acts only on the applications forwarded by the concerned departments.
